Our Farming practices

Regeneratively focused

Regeneratively focused

Strategic, rotational grazing rebuilds Mississippi soil season by season. No synthetic fertilizer, no herbicides, no shortcuts — the livestock do the soil work, the soil grows the food.

Humanely raised

Humanely raised

Animals live the way animals should — on pasture, in family groups, with room to express natural behavior. Low-stress handling from birth through harvest, every time.

No growth promotants

No growth promotants

No hormones, no steroids, no growth-pushing additives. Livestock finish at their own pace on grass — taking longer to raise, putting better food on your table.

Because it eats differently. Pasture-raised cattle on a diverse forage diet produce meat with deeper color, firmer texture, and a richer, slightly more mineral flavor than grain-finished beef. The fat is yellower (that's the beta-carotene from grass) and the cooking is a little different — leaner, faster, less forgiving of high heat. Worth the small learning curve.

Yes — the gate's open. We're at 90 Co Rd 253, Etta, MS 38627, about an hour southeast of Memphis. Tours run on a regular schedule and are open to anyone curious about how the meat in their freezer actually gets raised. Book a tour at /pages/visit-the-farm.

We tested it. Higher in omega-3s, vitamin E, and beta-carotene than the supermarket alternative. Most farms market it. We measured it.

No hormones, ever. We don't use prophylactic antibiotics either — meaning we don't dose the herd or flock as a routine practice. If an individual animal gets genuinely sick and needs antibiotics to recover, we treat it; that animal then gets pulled from our program and is not sold as Etta Hills meat. This is the honest answer; "never ever" claims usually aren't.
